Hey Josh, I am trying to set up the Paypal extension. I don't know what I'm doing lol. Do I need to do both of the options above or just one of them? I couldn't find any documentation on this.

Howdy Tom, I moved your reply to a new post as you're taking about PayPal Checkout.

To set up follow this instructions:

  1. Purchase/Download the PayPal Checkout Payment Plugin here: https://pro2.store/my-downloads/file/paypal-checkout
  2. Install the plugin in your Joomla Installation with P2S already installed.
  3. Go to Plugins and make sure both Pro2Store PayPal Plugins are enabled.
  4. Log into PayPal and go to: https://developer.paypal.com/developer/applications/ to setup live and/or ID's.
  5. Open the "Paypal - Pro2Store" plugin and add your live and/or sandbox ID's then save.
  6. Next, open YOOtheme Pro and go to your checkout page. On the checkout page add the new PayPal payment element and add in your same PayPal API credentials as before.
  7. Setup your element layout details and click save.
  8. Test the plugin and verify your checkout and payment is working correctly (Always check twice)!

Let me know if you have any further questions I can help with.

Thanks Josh. When doing the sandbox mode, are you supposed to be able to go through the whole process? I am getting stuck with a failed login to paypal in the dialog box when using Sandbox.

Ok Ive gone round and round in circles with paypal on this. With my current shop and paypal payment gateway I just need to add the email address. But with yours its a live client ID. Is there any videos online what walk through getting that as paypal just sends me round and round in circles

@Philp you need to add the api/client IDs. Just adding is not as secure and not the correct way of using PayPal for a shopping cart anymore.
If you need additional help, please let use know. We're still adding more documentation and videos as fast as we can, but I can help walk you through setting up PayPal :)

This PayPal app is doing my head in!

I have gone to developers.paypal and got myself a sandbox id and secret key for both Live and Sandbox, I entered both the id and secret key into the PayPal plugin on Joomla, for both Live and Sandbox.

Opened the payment page in Yootheme added the PayPal button, entered the ID for both Sandbox and Live into the boxes saved.

Went through the process to checkout, added address and everytime I hit the paypal button to pay it comes up with an error message:

"There was an error creating this order"

I have tried what I think is everything, created new id's and secret keys etc, removed the PayPal button and re-added.

Am I missing something here?

Many thanks
Ryan

Ryan Raymond I checked my steps above and they're correct. So assuming you did the same thing, I checked your site and it looks like there may be a different issue.
2 thoughts: if you have your P2S settings to need a terms button pressed, you're missing it at checkout. Also, make sure when testing to turn off custom code to see if that's the cause: i.e. you have right-click disabled that make it hard to troubleshoot and your html is showing a window.addevent error.

I also recommend editing your htaccess.txt to .htaccess and enable SEF in Joomla settings.

If you're still having issues, please email us your login info to: info@pro2.store so we can take a closer look for you :)

Hi Josh,

I have sent you an email and have done everything you have suggested, a couple of things were already in place. Disabled right click function, .htaccess was already activated. SEF was already enabled but no web address so added http://www.sgurrphotography.com didn't put in https:// which is what I use.

I have sent an email with login details to see if you could make head or tail of it, I have spent hours today troubleshooting searching the net but have failed to come up with anything.

Many thanks
Ryan

I'm bumping this hoping to get a response. It seems to be the same issue I have. However, in the steps I don't seem to be able to:

>>open YOOtheme Pro and go to your checkout page. On the checkout page add the new PayPal payment element and add in your same PayPal API credentials as before.

There is no option to add this into the paypal plugin??? I click it and all I get are options for labels and layout stuff etc.

HELLLLPPPPP!!!!
