Translation and accessibility is important. As a bilingual person myself, I know how important it is to have a digital product translated into my native language. That's why we have made a lot of effort to make sure that our Angular backend app used the native Joomla translation system and we have tried our absolute best to track down every translatable string in Pro2Store.
Although we understand that the system is not 100% covered or 100% perfect, we will continue to make sure that we can offer Pro2Store in as many languages as possible.
That's were you, the brilliant Pro2Store community, comes in. It has been clear from the discussions on the forum that there has been a need for a French and German translation of Pro2Store for a while now, and thankfully, some of you have taken up the challenge of translating Pro2Store into those languages.
So in an effort to keep the translations community driven and up-to-date, we have created a number of public Github repositories to hold the translations. This means that anyone who is interested in contributing to the translations, can fork the repo, make the changes and then make a pull request. There are already German and French translation to be forked:
On the Github already, we have the "Base Language Files" repository. This repo is the official en-GB language files and it tracks any changes I make to the Pro2Store system as I develop the code.
TIP! I will commit changes to the language files well in advance releasing official Pro2Store updates, so translations can be done before major updates, AND the files can be a clue to what's coming up for Pro2Store. :)
With all this in mind, I'm going to "practice what I preach" and take some time to create an Irish (Gaeilge) translation of Pro2Store. This will be done in some spare time over the Christmas holidays and will be ready for the new year.
Mar sin, go raibh maith agat as do chuid tacaíochta agus ranníocaíochtaí go léir le Pro2Store.
